Personal Statement
My main positions are third base and catcher. When I’m at third, before the ball is even thrown, I’m studying the batter. I look at her body language and I read her eyes. Most bunters have a tell when and where they are going to bunt. If they are creeping up in the box or sliding their hands slowly up the bat, I can tell they are about to bunt. I’m a student of the game. As a catcher, I notice different things my pitchers do when they throw their various pitches. Whether it’s adjusting their grip or making a face, I try to pick up anything the opposing pitcher does to give me an advantage.
As of now, November 3, 2019, I have hit 35 over the fence home runs in my softball career and I’m confident that I won’t stop there. I hope to have 40 home runs by the start of my junior year.
