In a world where the demands of instant gratification are at the forefront of everything, softball is my cup of humble tea.
My love for softball started at the age of 10. I play the sport for endless reasons that go beyond on and off the field. I have learned through softball that the losses are equally important as the wins; both provide self-growth and awareness.
I love the competitiveness of the game. The butterflies on game day, the team effort that makes us collectively one, and the feeling of giving 100% of me to a game of failure.
My ultimate goal is to be a surgeon. Much like softball, the surgeon is like the pitcher; they play a significant role in the game, but also like a pitcher; a surgeon is only as successful as their OR staff. Being a pitcher has taught me that my strength comes from my support system: my coaches, my teammates, my family, and God. To succeed in this game is to trust the process, surround yourself with like-minded individuals, and understand it takes work and perseverance to get to the next level.
There are no shortcuts in softball or being a surgeon, and because of this, I plan to show up every day, give 100%, knowing that playing the game comes with wins far beyond on the field.
