Olivia Weppler '24 Recruiting Profile

My name's Olivia. I've been playing ball since I was 6 years old. From the moment I started, I couldn't get enough of softball. I started out playing a little of every position, then started narrowing down which positions I liked over the last 4 or 5 years, and finally focused on becoming an accomplished catcher. I sort of fell into this position during a summer tournament game when our catcher was injured and we were left without one unless someone volunteered. I knew almost right away that I loved it. Every skill I couldn't do, I worked hard in my extra time to fine tune my techniques. One thing I like about myself as an athlete is that I am constantly evolving as a player: mentally, strategically, physically. I pride myself on being coach able as well. I'm continuously striving to be the best version of myself that I can be whether that means on or off the field.

My softball career, thus far, has been one I am very proud of and I want to further it by playing collegiate softball. I want to push myself not only on the field but in the classroom as well. I'd love to find a team where not only is there a competitive atmosphere but also a family-like one. One that runs like a well-oiled machine. I have a lot to offer this sport and I know this sport still has a lot to offer me.
