Personal Statement
I’ve been playing softball since I was about 5, of course then it was just tee ball. Sports have always been a major part of my life, so it seems fitting that it is my dream to play college softball. I haven’t always been the strongest or best player on my team, but I’ve been told I have the most heart. I understand that it takes hard work and sacrifice to get where I want to be. I love the game, it is the one place I can be myself and relax my mind. I’ve had to face fears through softball meeting new people and especially trying out for new teams, even having to do a second tryout because my first one didn’t go so well- thankfully one of the coaches thought I had something worthwhile and stuck up for me saying he thought I deserved another shot. I made the team that second day, and now I’m determined not to let them down.
I’m not exactly sure what I want to study in college, but I’m leaning towards biology and zoology. I was raised on a farm where I have raised pigs and steers for 4H. This and the fact that I have always been very interested in animals has me thinking I might like to pursue a career in veterinary sciences or animal sciences.
