Brooke Silcox '20 Recruiting Profile

I am a 5'5" catcher and shortstop from Tipp City, Ohio and will graduate in 2020. I have been a starting Varsity player since my freshman year. This season, I am proud to say that I have already beat my freshman home run record, but I realize I need to continue to improve. That is why I continue to work on strength and I practice hard in the off season. I am also proud that my coach sees me as a leader. He approached me this season and said, " just because you are younger, that doesn't mean you can't lead this team". I am seen as a leader not only as catcher, but for my willingness to help and encourage anyone that is struggling.

I am looking for a school where I can find the right balance between the classroom and field. I would like to pursue a university with an outstanding academic reputation in the field of Kinesiology or Exercise Science. Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make an immediate impact on the team. I bring sportsmanship, a determination to grow, a great attitude and exceptional work ethic. Financial assistance is going to be very important to me in the college selection process. I would be willing to travel farther to a school with less out of pocket expense. Ideally, I would like to be at a program where I would make a significant contribution early in my career!
