Hello, I'm Lisa Kochevar. I am a junior at South Eugene High School in Eugene, Oregon. I've been playing club softball for almost six years, and I am a varsity starter for my high school team. I fell in love with softball the moment I started in fourth grade. Ever since, I couldn't stand being away from softball on the off seasons. I love every position in softball and have a lot of experience in each one except pitcher and first base. I never want softball to leave my life, and I want to continue to get better every day as a player and a person. I want to play softball in college because I love every second of it, and I want everyone to see just how fun and amazing even the toughest times of softball are.
My friends and family have helped me get to where I am. They continue to guide me and push everyday, and I love getting new advice and learning with them.
My hardest moment in softball was in eighth grade when I lost a thrown ball in the sun and it fractured my nose in two places. Getting back on the field after that was very hard, but I had sunglasses and a field mask and a love for softball. This experience was very important to me because I am more attentive now and, honestly, more confident. I learned that it is important to learn from your mistakes, but to never let them weigh you down. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my statement and my profile.
