Personal Statement
I started my journey with softball when I was 12 years old, it has now been 4 years and I have absolutely fallen in love with the sport. However, that's not to say there weren't ups and downs. When I was younger I enjoyed sports, I tried several, including volleyball, basketball, and soccer. However, none of these sports ignited a passion in me the way softball does. In the beginning, it was tough, I was considered to be a "late bloomer", but I worked hard and I was determined to catch up to girls my age. I persevered and progressed to become the player I am today.
I continue to be determined and work hard so that I may overcome any obstacles in my path. I love many aspects of softball, the speed, the adrenaline rush, the celebration after an incredible play, the excitement of an amazing hit, the overwhelming feeling of getting the last out to save the game or having a play at the plate. I love the team feeling, being able to have eight sisters on the field with me while I do what I love. I also love the confident part of me it has brought out. I am confident in my ability as an athlete and as a student. I have a 3.6 GPA and got 1150 on my sophomore PSAT. I stay on top of my work and I strive to be a well rounded and disciplined student athlete. I participate in Spirit Club, PALS, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Spanish club. I have played on varsity since my freshman year. In addition, I have a love for athletic training. I would like to stay involved with athletes and have the ability to help them through injuries.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
