Personal Statement
I took my first steps on a softball field when I was eight years old, and I had no idea how much this game would change my life. Why do I love this game so much? I love the rushing feeling you get when you’re rounding the bases. I love the special bond I achieve with my teammates, and the intensity I feel when I’m playing. This game has taught me life values such as passion, confidence, and dedication. Even the bruised legs from bad pitches, or the soreness after a tough workout is worth it when I know I pushed my limits to new heights. I’ve learned that in this game you're always going to find adversity in some way or another. However, it's how you overcome from those tough moments that determine what character lives inside of you.
I’ve been fortunate enough to play at a competitive level. I grew up in a household that taught me to be grateful for everything; so I learned to work hard and stay humble. I have a strong passion for self-improvement, and helping others reach their full potential. I’ve learned the meaning of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice and leadership since my career as a select softball player. These attributes have helped me develop my character, and technical skills as a solid middle-infielder capable of playing at the college level.
I’m looking for a program that will allow me to enhance my athletic abilities, and advance my academic studies as well. History and tradition are important qualities for my school of choice to possess. A softball program that focuses on teamwork, and player development are crucial aspects to me. I believe I have the talent to play for a competitive college team. I also believe that I have the drive, work ethic and leadership skills to make an immediate impact to your softball program!
