The best thing my 2nd-grade Girl Scout troop ever did was make a recreational softball team. My softball career began with me playing and learning the sport with my closest friends. This fostered my life-long love for softball. My second season of softball, I moved up to a 10u select team. I by far had the least experience on the team, but I had the mindset of being first on the field and the last to leave, which allowed me to become the starting 2nd baseman. Over the years, as I have become stronger and more developed as a player, I have become a starting shortstop and pitcher.
So far, the highlight of my athletic career has been making the USA Elite Select Futures team. I was super excited when I found out that I was going to compete with some of the best softball players in the United States. I learned that through dedication and hard work I can achieve my goal of playing college softball along with teammates that I can create long-lasting friendships with, all while striving towards the common goal of winning a title for our school.
As for academics, my goal is to reach my fullest potential as a student. I have been part of the gifted and talented program since 1st-grade and have achieved straight A's due to the high expectations of both my parents and myself. I plan to continue challenging myself academically throughout my collegiate career through my interest in engineering and law. Education and sports are very important to me, so being a student-athlete is a top priority for me now and going forward, wherever that path may lead.
