Madison King '23 Recruiting Profile

I have played softball since the age of six. I started in league ball, but my competitive drive left me wanting more so I joined my former league coach’s select team, Texas Steal, who I played with for five years. In the fall of 2019, I joined Aces Express 14u – Futures to further showcase my abilities. In the fall of 2020, Aces Express joined Texas Bombers so I elected to rejoin my coach from Texas Steal who is now the assistant coach for Illusions Lampl/Bowen. I played for the Illusions during the fall of 2020. 

From the beginning of my softball journey I’ve received compliments, but my humbleness, instilled in me at an early age, kept my feet on the ground. My desire to contribute to the team in as many ways as possible, leads me to put in extra hours of practice at home. My true passion in the sport is pitching where the pressure and spotlight has me working harder each day to not let my team down.

Even though the sport of softball consumes much of my time, I have always put academics first. My goal is to maintain my 4.0 GPA and graduate in the top 10% of my class. I look to further my education through the pursuit of an architecture or engineering degree. I believe the qualities of a team sport will carry over to my professional and adult life.
