My name is Izabella "Bella " Hernandez, Class of 2022 (Uncommitted). I began playing softball when I was 5 years old and have always competed with girls above my age level. Over the years, I have enjoyed playing travel softball and having the opportunities to play against competitive teams. I strive to be a leader by helping my teammates to work hard while being positive and promoting teamwork. As a member of the National Honor Society I apply this same drive to my academics.
My primary position is 2nd Base / 3rd Base. One of my strengths as a player is having a strong arm and being a utility player that can play almost any position on the field. Last high school season my parentage was 1.00, with 14 putouts, and zero committed errors. My fielding is above average, with excellent footwork and outstanding softball IQ. I led my travel softball team this fall in hitting with a batting average of .389 with an on-base percentage of .465. I finished 2nd on the team in RBIs and runs scored. Not only can I help take care of things on the field but I strive to take care of things in the classroom while taking all AP classes and maintaining a 3.7 GPA while participating in extracurricular activities. I have been awarded Academic All-District 2nd Team 2 years in a row and am a 3-year Starting Varsity Letterman.
My goal is to play collegiate softball while being able to obtain a degree in Environmental Science. I believe I am a good candidate as I believe in teamwork, working hard on and off the field, and always having a positive attitude.
