Mariana Velez '23 Recruiting Profile

As a student athlete and I am very determined to achieve the goals I set for myself.  I am coach able and I am very eager to find out what it takes to become an all around better softball player.  Academically I am self driven and motivated to complete the degree plan to become a physical trainer. I know when to take initiative and how to uplift my teammates when needed. I am easy to talk to and have an ability to make friends and I am open minded about my team and coaches.  When I am down, I simply take a couple seconds to regroup and tell myself what I did wrong, how I can fix it and try better next time.  What sets me apart is that I am a natural leader, I am receptive to change and feedback which makes me an adaptive athlete. My surroundings have taught me how to work under pressure which makes me a good collaborator for any team.
