Personal Statement
I have always dreamed of playing collegiate softball ever since I first decided to play. Back then, I never knew how much work it was going to take, but I realized that the sacrifices and long hours I've put in have shaped me into the person I am today, and will prepare me for my future in the real world. I work very hard at softball, as well as my academics. I currently have a 4.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, and am ranked 2nd out of 179 students. While some people are spoken leaders, I am one to lead by example. I feel that this quality is more beneficial for team sports, because it allows a group to get better, as a whole, and without conflicts. I am also a very self-motivated person. I have no siblings, so the work I have put in over the years is and was strictly based off of my own love for the game, and not of competition between brothers or sisters. In the outfield, I read the ball well off the bat which allows me to get to the ball faster. Diving or sliding in order to catch a ball is not an issue with me. I do not mind the grass stains, and actually enjoy having something to show for my hard work. Thank you for your consideration! -Grace
