The day I fell in love with the game, I was 7 years old and the only girl on a coed baseball team. The coach told everybody to grab a partner, but of course no one wanted to partner with a girl. I ended up being the coaches partner, but when I picked up that ball and fired it properly to the coach, all of the boys looked at me in astonishment. When I saw the looks on their faces, my competitive nature took over and I realized I had to be the fastest, strongest, and best player on the team. After that day, I knew that softball would always be my #1 and someday I'd be a softball star.
Sense then, the love has never died but the passion has grown. At 8, I took up pitching on a travel softball team. I love the game within the game when I'm on the mound. I think of it as chess, always being one step ahead of my opponent and out-smarting them. At the plate, I clear my head and react to the pitch. My goals are to go to a college where I can start on the mound, hit/pinch hit, get good grades, and have fun while playing the game I love.
I, Bailey Lee, would be a great candidate for your softball program because of my work ethic, leadership skills (I was chosen for E4A which is an athletic program for leaders), dedication, and loud cheering voice! What sets me apart from my teammate's is my commitment, punctuality, competitiveness, and ability to keep calm during intense situations.
