Personal Statement

I am the last of 5 children so I have watched my brothers and sisters grow up with education-oriented parents. I am 1/4 Navajo American Indian and my grandmother and mother have encourage me and my siblings in education. I have seen some of my siblings make their own mistakes as they were learning. What I have learned from them is that a college education and following through is ESSENTIAL to success.

My own goals include playing softball at the collegiate level and obtaining my degree. I love playing ball and I really enjoy the wins, but the losses always keep me objective and make me work harder, helping me realize what I am really made of. I bring an effervescent energy and confidence to the game and believe in positivity both on and off the field. That doesn't mean that I am not competitive though! Having a proactive personality, being a team player, and learning how to apply that from the field to life has been the key for me.

DSU Softball Winter Skills Camp

Dixie State University Softball hosted the January Showcase with members of the coaching staff and softball team geared toward players with a strong desire to improve their individual skill level both offensively and defensively, and play softball at the collegiate level. Players came from New York to California and Arizona to Washington states. It was an excellent opportunity to work with other skilled players from around the nation.
