I first discovered softball when I was seven years old in the third grade, and through these past nine years softball has taught me a lot about myself. I have learned leadership skills that I use in my day to day life as an officer and praise leader in my church youth group and on the field as a teammate. I have also learned time management skills between practice, school, and social life, and the importance of teamwork on and off the field. I was also a team captain on my previous travel team. This role has taught me to be more vocal and take charge when no one else is.
On the field, I am competitive, and determined to do whatever I put my mind towards. I am also a supportive teammate and always looking for ways to keep my team’s energy positive! I think my work ethic and commitment will be a great addition to any team. Also, having a mom that is Korean and growing up around a different cultural background has taught me how to be understanding and open minded towards different people, cultures, and opinions. In addition, I am fluent in Korean and being bilingual has given me an abundance of opportunities to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. Academically, I am a persistent student that puts my all into my work. For college, I am planning to attend a four-year college but I am unsure of what to study at the moment; however, I am open minded to any major.
