Personal Statement
My goal is to play softball at the highest level academic college or university possible. I am not afraid to work hard on the field and in the classroom and every teacher and coach I have ever had will attest to that. I have a lot to offer a team. I am an active leader and participant. As part of National Honor Society, I mentor regularly before school hours at my former middle school and helped coordinate an innaugural school food drive for the hungry in my area that will be replicated again next year. This summer, I am looking forward to volunteering at our local chapter of Women Giving Back.
On the field, catcher is my main position and I also play outfield and second base; I will play anywhere on the field. There's no feeling like being on the field and part of a team. This Spring Season, I split time between catching and second base and a few outings in the field. I finished High School season hitting .500 (34/68) with 6 homeruns, 25 RBIs, .912 slugging and was honored to receive the MVP award for 2019. I accomplished a personal goal of breaking the single season hit record with 34 hits; for the prior 11 years it stood at 32.
Ashburn Shooting Stars 2020 is my travel team for the last 4 years and we are starting our season June 8 at USA Softball Gold in Richmond, VA then 6/14 VA State Championship, Roanoke, VA; 6/24-29 at the World Fastpitch Championships in Cocoa Beach, FL; 7/6 Shooting Stars Showcase in Ashburn, VA; 7/10-14 at the Atlanta Legacy Showcase and 7/21-29 at the USA Softball Championship in Roanoke, VA.
Academics are extremely important to me. Currently, I have a 4.37 and will enter my senior year having completed 3 AP classes. Psychology and Biology are top major choices. Outside of softball, I have many diverse interests. Skiing and traveling are both passions. I love adventure, challenge and striving to be the best I can be no matter what I am doing. I will work hard to make a significant contribution and to be a leader on and off the field for my future team.
