Personal Statement
My name is Hailey Talbot and I am a 5' 9" junior from Pullman, Washington. I have lettered in soccer, basketball, and softball since freshman year while maintaining a 3.9 GPA. In those seasons, I started in almost every softball and soccer game and was a dynamic second-string post for our schools basketball team. Being one of the smaller 2A teams in Washington, our teams haven't been the most successful, but they are on the upswing. We have learned valuable lessons through the losses and they make us stronger. I also play for a club softball team. We go to tournaments around the area and try to better our school program. Besides sports at my school, I competitively tap dance at our local dance studio.
My dad has been a huge influence and coach in my years of softball. He is the reason I started playing. Him and my mom have been my most prominent supporters throughout the years. In the 3rd grade, I started playing and fell in love. In 7th grade I realized that it was the sport I wanted to play for the rest of my life. Through pitching, softball has taught me discipline, leadership, and perseverance. I have a positive attitude and love to see teammates succeed. I just love the culture of sports and want to immerse myself in that forever.
For the rest of high school, my goal is to keep my GPA above a 3.8 and join a few of our schools clubs. In college, I would like to study communications in media or crimonolgy. I want to stay in the northwest due to the fact that my family lives over here. I know my future is bright and I am open minded to the possibilities that lie ahead.
