I knew as early as 8 years old that I wanted to be a pitcher in softball. My dad helped me learn pitching and my love for softball has grown ever since. Being a pitcher has a lot of responsibility and that's the main reason I love it. I love the pressure. There are so many variables that can affect the outcome of the game and I have some control of that when I’m on the mound. For instance, how well you are throwing and how mentally tough you are can make the difference between winning the game and losing. I love this sport because I enjoy the process. I work hard and see the results I am looking for in my performance. It also teaches you lessons by learning from your mistakes and not just becoming a better player, but a better person. I have learned from my mom that you need to be as mentally strong as you are physically. I have the mental capacity to not let the errors and mistakes get to me throughout the game. Beyond playing softball in college, I want to further my education in medicine and eventually become a surgeon. On and off the field I push myself to be a good teammate and person.
