Personal Statement

Hello,

My name is Jenny Helfvogt, and my goals/dreams are to play on a college softball team and also to become a Medical-Surgical Nurse. When I was a little girl I was so determined to play on an MLB team, so I practiced day and night, hitting, throwing, base running, etc.

Softball is my life, I literally played ever since I could walk because of my father. My father inspired me to play softball and get into the sport as much as he did for baseball. My dad was a Sophmore in Highschool and already throwing 90mph fastballs for his team and he was requited to play for the Chicago Cubs.  Although he didn't follow his dreams, I'm determined and have my mind set on following and accomplishing mine. I know it takes hard work in the classroom, but it also takes hard work to go out in the field and play the best I can.

I worked on my family's farm for years, so I understand what hard work and dedication is. I was an assistant coach for my younger sisters softball team for 2 years.

My mom, stepdad,  my grandmama, my coach Heidi Ganshert, and my batting coach, are my biggest supporters and I don't know what I would do without them!
