My name is Mickenzie Wright, and I have been playing softball for 9+ years. Ever since I put the glove on, I knew I wanted to play softball at the college level. Being able to play a higher level of ball would change my life forever.
When it comes to softball, I am a hard and dedicated worker. I have a strong and accurate arm that helps me make fast and smart plays on the field. I have a batting average of 300 and sit 3rd on my teams batting order. I work hard on and off the field year round to set a good example for all of my teammates. I make myself coachable by taking any corrections given to me, practicing them, and then applying them during the game. I am not perfect, but I always strive to be one of the hardest working players on my team. And I strive to be one of the hardest working recruits you'll find.
I work hard year round to better myself for my team. I take pitching lessons with a trusted and well-known pitching coach and am always looking for new ways to strengthen my skills. I also participate in my local studios dance team and weight lift every week to which both contribute to my athleticism.
I don't just work on the field, though. In the classroom I always have always studied hard and have maintained a high GPA in my whole high school career. I am waiting for the National Honors Society and am ranked 19th in my class of 40+ students. Coming from a small school, I have had the opportunity to participate in many extra curriculurs. From FFA to being the Queen of my towns royalty program, I have learned how to prioritize my time and to give it my all no matter what.
I want to attend college so I can continue to push myself to work hard in the classroom and on the field. I am open to all and any options I can get so I can find the right college for me. My hope is to set an amazing example for my peers, younger and older than me, and to make my family proud.
