Personal Statement
I believe that the way a person carries them self, both on and off the field, determines their character and morality. Personally, I follow this idea of good character. Not only am I determined to give one hundred percent of my blood sweat and tears into the game of softball, I will do this same thing in the means of school, my job, and living a successful life. In many occurrences, I have been told that I hold myself to a higher standard, constantly pushing myself past my limits and others to their full potential as well. My drive and determination to prosper is carried throughout an entire team. I have been told before that my push to always do better rubs off on my teammates, forcing them to reach their highest point as well. That being said, I believe that I am humble in my manors and would never boast or feel more significant than a teammate or any other of my pears. I believe that what determines your success is not how good you are at something, but rather the hard work one puts in to get to where they want to be. My collegiate goals are very similar to those of my high school goals: to reach the level of self satisfaction. For me, that means a championship title in the best situation. However, I also believe that if I constantly push myself to be better, knowing that the only way to success is to always be giving more effort than what you feel your body is capable of, the goal of pursuing the championship softball team dream will still be reached. I show this drive in my academics just as much as my athletics, as shown by my grades in higher levels courses. No matter the circumstances of athletics, I believe that I can always fall back on my academics to still live a successful life.
