Alexa Hess '19 Recruiting Profile

I am addicted to Fastpitch softball!   I have made my Varsity team as a Freshman and Sophomore.  So far, In my high school career,  I have a few memorable accomplishments.  Earning First Team All Conference, All Suburban Area Honorable Mention in 2017, and breaking up a no hitter.  I had the only hit in a game on April 14, 2016. I slapped a single against a senior, who is now a Division II pitcher.

I also had 3 diving catches in right field this season.  I'm being moved to centerfield for 2018.

I would love the opportunity to continue playing after high school.  I know the importance of good grades as a student athlete, and manage my time very wisely.

When I was younger, I wanted to play softball and soccer in high school.  When I found out those sports are both played in spring, I chose my real, true first love...softball!!

I am a lefty slapper, that has played every position at least once in a game.  I offered to catch for my team, the first year of my 14u season.  I am also the back up catcher on Varsity.  

I also learned slapping the same year.  I was successful at both.  I love learning new things about the game.  

I also enjoy learning new things in class.  That enthusiasm has given me many ideas for career choices.  I can't wait to be a student athlete in college.

I hope to bring my enthusiasm for softball and the classroom to college.
