Personal Statement
My name is Emma Lindahl and I live in Cody, Wyoming. I will graduate in 2025 from Cody High School. I am a third baseman and a shortstop. I started playing softball at the recreational level when I was 7 and started playing competitive 6 years ago. I play competitively for Cody Pride fastpitch softball and this is my second year on 18u. In the fall of 2020, I played with Worland Wildfires for their fall team and I played some games with their variety team. In 2021, I played with the Cody Pride fall ball team. That team was really young and I knew that being one of the oldest ones, I had to step up, be a good example, and be a good leader on and off the field. Other extracurricular activities I enjoy are spending time with my friends and family, spending time outdoors and/or at a field to practice, I throw shot put for our high school Indoor Track team, and I enjoy shooting hoops by myself. Qualities that make me a good candidate for a college team is I work hard to achieve my goals, I am a good team player, I put the need of my team over my own, and I have a strong work ethic. I also believe that I am a coachable athlete. I am willing to learn positions that I do not already know and I am willing to put in the extra time that is needed. I have not been playing competitive very long, but I know that it is important to be a good strong leader and help your team when they need it. I have recently started lifting and I go as often as I can. I don't lift to get bulky or be the strongest one, but to be the best me I can possibly be. My favorite things about softball are the friends and bond I have made, the fun I have on and off the field, and the way the sport has made me better at my everyday activities. I love to win but that's not what is important to me, it's being on the field with people I trust and playing the game I love so much. My hope/goals and aspirations for my college career is to graduate with a master’s and/or doctorate's degree in Physical Therapy or Athletic training. While working on my college degree I want to play the sport I've grown to love at the collegiate level. Thank you for your time and consideration.
