Ciara Laird '23 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals and aspirations include studying information systems with a concentration in cybersecurity, becoming involved in campus organizations, and being a student-athlete. I am a great candidate for the team because I am more than a hard worker on the court but also off the court. There are many outstanding recruits, but I am different because I aspire each day to not just run the race set before me but to win it. Winning is done on the court, but also in life. Basketball is my passion, and I am driven by the love of the game. 

As Captain of the team, I set the tone for my teammates. I lead by example in words and deeds. With a new program, I know that my teammates need me to bold, prepared, and enthusiastic for each game--win or lose. Each player can look to me for the support that they need. I strive to be the hardest worker at practice and in the game. 

What sets me apart as a student-athlete is my faith is the foundation of my character. I vow to do my best in every deed at all times. It is my desire to let others see me demonstrate the principles that I believe in whether it is academically or on the court.
