Samara Kasayulie-Kookesh '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Samara, and I am Alaskan Native. I come from a village in Southeast Alaska with about 400 people. My school has about 20 students in the high school and because of the low number of students ASAA, Alaska School Activities Association gave me a waiver to play high school basketball in 8th grade. I have been a starter and shooting guard/pg for my team ever since.
I am now in my senior year during a pandemic... This has been tough to say the least - we are finally playing but we are currently waiting for the rest of our teams in our district to start their programs. Our regional tournament will take place May 24-26 of 2021 in Sitka, Alaska! I am really excited and I know we have a strong team this year so we are aiming to cut down some nets!
