Ava Pelaez '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi, my name is Ava! I discovered my love for basketball when I was ten years old by playing with my dad. Before this, I had been a track sprinter for five years and competed at the Junior Olympics Regional Championship. Starting a competitive sport at such a young age helped me become very responsible, accountable, and has led to my strong work ethic. My speed, strength, and agility are my strongest assets on the court. I use challenges on and off the court as motivators to work harder. For example, during basketball games tough competitors make me play harder. In school, I leverage the work ethic I gained in sports and push myself by taking IB, AP, and concurrent enrollment classes. Academically, I’m interested in computer information systems. I also enjoy writing and would consider going into law.
