I fell in love with this sport because of the bond between my dad and I. He has been my coach since I was 4 years old. Basketball has grown on me because of the love I have for it, especially through relationships. I conceptually understand the game and I can see the entire court. When having the opportunity to grow and improve, I just focus on the basics. Focusing on the present is important, releasing frustrations, and taking one possession at a time. I focus on the next move, the next play, and the next shot. Even when I want to score, I am more satisfied with the game when the team does good not when I do. I recognize the present, and learn my lessons. I as well focus on the process, focusing continually on doing the little things, so I can be able to put myself in the position to be successful. My attitude on and off the court is always positive and helps the team be positive. It is constant through shoot-around's, practices, and games. I manage my time between academics and athletics very well, and focus on the important things. I want to continue my athletic career because I want to learn more about this sport, and I want to face these challenges of managing the time commitment of the sport and I am looking forward to challenging myself to play at this next level. I acknowledge that there will be a huge commitment for college basketball, dedicating myself to many hours of shooting, lifting and more. I am ready for this challenge and this time commitment because, yet again, the passion and love I have for the sport is the focal point on why I want to play. I am ready to endure more relationships through the sport.
