Raelyn Koenig '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Raelyn Marie Koenig and I am passionate about the sport of basketball. I have been playing basketball, competitively, since I was 8 or 9. My freshman and sophomore year I was Wiggins' leading scorer, but I also broke a 25 year record at my school for highest free throw percentage and I hope to break many more. My sophomore season has concluded, and I am getting prepared for my junior season. I have found a new club team with the Colorado Hoopsters in Westminster Colorado. I am super excited to play with my new club team next summer. I primarily play the shooting guard position, but I feel comfortable playing any position I am needed. My coaches trained me to be flexible when it comes to my position on the court. 

At my high school I have a 4.09 Weighted GPA and I am tied for first in my grade. I have gotten straight A's for about three years. My preferred career path is in the medical industry, hopefully as a surgeon, but I think that the nursing industry might be a good fit for me as well. I have not taken my SAT yet, but I have taken the PSAT in 2019 and 2020. I got an overall score of 1030 out of 1520 in 2019, which was the second-highest score in my class. The national average for an overall score is 920 for someone taking the PSAT for their first time. In 2020 I took the PSAT again and got an overall score of 1140 out of 1520. My goal is to end up at a four-year college with a scholarship for basketball.
