Being a student athlete allows me to stay organized and manage my time effectively. While playing on two basketball teams this year I was also inducted into the National Junior Honors Society.  

The last three years my travel basketball team, Haddam Killingworth, has been the league champions. I have learned from working with the same group of girls that to achieve this success it is not one person’s skills that makes a team great. It is working together and allowing each other the opportunity to improve our weaknesses. I have been able to improve my basketball IQ and support the team during games by helping my teammates see our opponents before they execute a play. My coach heavily depends on my defensive play, ability to box out, rebound, and shoot from the line. During a game I am comfortable with adjusting my play or position as directed by my coach to better support the team.  

I believe my academic drive, strong leadership traits, overall work ethic, and basketball skills will provide me with the talent to compete for a college team.
