My name is Katie Flynn. I am now beginning my senior year at Ridgefield High School in Connecticut. I continue to aspire to play basketball at the next level. I am a very hard worker on and off the court. I love to hustle and if I am not having a great offensive game, I will always work hard on defense no matter what, to make up for it. I am a good teammate, as well as a leader on the court. I also lead off the court as a youth basketball coach and official. I love the camaraderie of being on a team, when we are playing basketball and when we are not playing basketball. Basketball is a sport I love and am passionate about, it gives me confidence, as well as a sense of achievement and accomplishment. I am really looking forward to seeing what my opportunities will be at the next level.
In 2020, I had a significant setback where I had a serious concussion in January, after averaging over 10 points per game. I was out for over a month, but when I returned, I helped lead our team to win the conference championship from the #7 seed. I am very proud of the accomplishment, but more of what I went through to return to the court. I am playing AAU with the Empire State Blue Flames this fall, and looking forward to continuing to develop as a player and a person.
In college, I hope to study a broad variety of things, but I am most interested in sports leadership, journalism, and medicine.
