6th-grade was the beginning of my athletic journey in basketball. I had no idea how to shoot, dribble a basketball, or understand the calls the refs would make. Yet after that first season that I sat on the bench and only played JV, I told myself I was going to evolve into a good basketball player that could do it all for my team. Fast forward 4 years, I am the starting varsity point guard for my high school team. This role did not come easy, I had to work very hard, maybe the hardest I have worked for something to be where I am now. Now you may think that’s it, she is a varsity starter so she isn’t working as hard. Well, the complete opposite. I could tell you I work even harder during the off-season now to become a better player, to grow my intelligence of the game and be a better player for the next season. With this in mind my strong characteristics I believe are my will to always get better, to never settle, and always give my 110% in everything I do, including everything other than basketball, in life. Academically I always strive for high grades, leading me to have always been in High honor roll since freshman year and a member of the National Honor Society now. I do not strive however to compete with others, I just strive to be the best version of myself possible, making sure I am always doing the best for me and the ones I love.
