My name is Ella Gordon of Wilmington, DE, and I will graduate with the class of 2022. From an early age, sports have been important to me. My parents have always encouraged me to try new things and come out of my comfort zone. Playing basketball at a young age introduced me to the competition. In junior high, while playing soccer or running cross country, I was always playing basketball. During the last years of junior high, I made it a priority to work hard to achieve my goal for playing basketball. Every day I would complete a workout, ran through Jason Otter School of basketball, after coming back from a different practice. I have played club basketball in the spring/summer sessions from 7th grade to the present, and feel that experience, along with junior high and high school teams, has made me a more complete player. During my sophomore year, I was a starter on the varsity team. I was named as an Honorable Mention All Catholic Conference.
I would like to play basketball at the collegiate level. I’m looking for the right school, in both academics and athletics. I would like to be coached by a staff that legitimately cares about me as a person, that will encourage academic growth along with athletic growth. From a team player perspective, I want to play with a team that wants to win. Putting in extra work to get better should be the expectation. Having teammates that push each other to get better is important to me.
