Personal Statement
I started playing soccer in 5th grade and had an immediate passion for the sport. I am a starting right outside back or center back defender for Sporting Delaware Girls Academy 2005 girls team with a graduation year of 2023. We have been to Regionals the past 3 years, finalist in 2017 and 2019. I pride myself on man-on-man defense, my speed, aggressiveness, passing out of pressure, attacking and anticipating the play. I am also comfortable using both my right and left feet. I have been selected on the ODP State team the last three years (2019-2021) and selected on the ODP Regional pool in 2021. Additionally, I was selected to represent Sporting Delaware as the Club Representative for the Girls Academy. My travel team has also been ranked top ten in the country on GotSoccer for the past 3 years. I have been fortunate to play as a freshman at Ursuline Academy on varsity teams for field hockey, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. In soccer I received 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-State during my sophomore year. Due to Covid my freshman soccer season was cut short. I also play on All American AIM lacrosse team; this team has attended Nationals for the past 2 out of 3 years.
I approach my school work with the same passion and determination I feel for sports; I am currently taking Honors Algebra II,Honors Spanish III, AP English, and Honors US History. On a personal level, I am very proud to be a recipient of the United Nations Honors Award for contributing 92 hours of community service during the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 school year. I believe that to excel in sports I need to have balance and excel in the other areas of my life as well. I feel that my passion and drive help me to excel and give everything I have to anything I participate in. I believe that this will make me an asset for any team I am fortunate enough to be a part of in the future. Being successful on any team requires communication, listening skills, drive, and the ability to be fearless, and I work tirelessly to accomplish these things on a daily basis.
