Ruby Brannon '23 Recruiting Profile

I'm a 5'7 shooting guard from "Down Under". I grew up in the coastal city of Wollongong, about an hour south of Sydney in NSW. I played all my junior basketball for the Illawarra Hawks, but now play Youth League (under 23's) and am an NBL1 roster member for the North Sydney Bears in the NBL1 East. I am an AUSA athlete - a basketball facility in Sydney that offers personalized and sport specific on court and off court training and fitness programs. I pride myself on my defense, my talk and leadership on the court. I am constantly looking to improve my game and learn, and pride myself on my coachability. While defense is my biggest playing strength I have worked significantly on my 3 point shot and as a result shoot at a very high percentage from the 3 point line.

My love for fitness, sport and travel all fuel my desire to play high level college basketball. I recently completed my Cert 3 and 4 in fitness( while playing YL/NBL1 and completing year 12) and have started working as a personal trainer. 

Academically I am a strong and enthusiastic student, maintaining A & B grades at St Mary Star of the Sea College, an all girls private school in Wollongong. While Wollongong is a University town, I have the biggest desire to attend college and as this isn’t something that many girls do in my area I would love to pave the way for others!
