Alexa Cruz '24 Recruiting Profile

My collegiate goals and aspirations is to go into the field of criminology where one day I can be in the fbi, but also have the option to  study criminal law. Criminology, psychology, and understanding how human behavior works has always been my top interest in fields to study. What makes me a good candidate for your team is my passion that I have for the sport of basketball, and how I never settle for less. I will always train to be better, do better, and improve on my strongest abilities even if I don’t think I need to improve on it. Whether I’m going into tryouts, or going into a game, I always play to the best of my abilities and play the way I know how to play basketball in order to continue showing my coaches and others around me, the abilities that I have as a player and as a person. What makes me different from other recruiters in character is that I am very open minded and can handle criticism. If I am told I need to improve on something, I will not take that for granted and I will continue to work on it so I can be the best version of myself as a player but also as a person. As an athlete, I am very flexible with the positions that I play on the court. In my opinion, my best ability is my shooting range and movement with the ball. I know I can shoot, but I also know that if there is a close game or if my team and I have to find a way to score, I will settle my team and take control of the court. Although my best ability is being a shooting guard, on my high school varsity team as well as my aau team, I am often used as a small forward and a point guard. I learn to manage those positions and understand that I have a big role to fill. Although most of my time is focusEd on basketball, I hold myself high with my academics. I am able to maintain a 3.6 gpa while playing basketball in school and out of school. I also take part in leadership roles in the classroom and outside of the classroom. I am apart of my church leadership team for the church I go to, as well as participating in clubs at my high school such as Leo club and class activites. I take part in Spanish honors society all while working a job that takes up my weekends where 1 shift is at least 10 hours. There are a lot of recruiters out there, but I know I am someone who can balance my academics, my athletic achievements as well as helping out other communities and doing volunteer service while working a job that takes up the rest of my free days.
