Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Maici Mintchwarner and I have been playing lacrosse since the second grade - the last 6 years as a goalie. I play competitive club lacrosse for South Jersey Select (SJS Pink) out of Moorestown, NJ, since 2013. I also play with the Charlotte Style, a club out of Charlotte, NC, when they need a goalkeeper. At Allentown High school I have played Junior Varsity during my freshman and sophomore years. My formal goalie training comes from Ginny Capicchioni’s Gladiator program and Bob Henderson at SJS. Along with playing girls lacrosse, I also played boy's box lacrosse as a goalie for Leading Edge in 2015, 2016, and 2017 which helped me develop my mental strength as well as acclimating me to fast-paced shots and dodges I would not have seen otherwise. Scholastically, I have taken many honors classes and I have a 3.6 GPA that I am always striving to improve. I am tough, coachable, and I can take direction and criticism well. Outside of lacrosse, I am an active member in the Civil Air Patrol (AirForce Auxillary) as a cadet with the rank of Master Sergeant. I am interested in ROTC and still exploring which field of study I want to pursue. I do know that I enjoy competing against the best players out there and I want to continue playing at college. My latest achievement this fall is receiving All-Star at the Penn State Prospect Day.
