When i was younger I spent a lot of leisure time playing basketball with my older brother shooting hoops outside. I began playing on community leagues at the age of five. It was at that time that i discovered my pleasure in playing the game. I would often watch professional athletes and amateurs alike demonstrate their basketball skills on Youtube videos. This inspired me to work on dribbling skills also. All I used to do is dribble, but as I got older I’ve obtained a better understanding of the game. Training can sometimes be dreadful, yet your crave for success makes you work harder. I’ve also learned that you need a different perspective. While you may think your doing good in one area, someone else might realize you need improvement. My dad always yells at me from the sideline during my games. I used to get mad becomes he would distract me, yet I understand his frustration when I keep making the same mistakes. It’s good to receive constructive criticism. I’m often underestimated when people see me because of my size. Yet, my quickness, speed, and ability to dribble makes me stand out from others. I love getting rebounds, especially long rebounds, and running the floor.I am also able to jump high for my height. I need to improve on certain aspects mentally and physically. For example, mentally I need to clear my mind of self-doubt and keep focus. Physically I have to improve on defense and make smarter decisions. Academically, I want to keep my GPA over a 4.0 throughout all 4 years of high school. In college, I want to assure I manage my time between both basketball and schoolwork. I want a college who would punish my gameplay if my grades are bad. I have a very unique personality. I’m a serious person but I know when and when its not play time. I like to surround myself with people who uplift me and bring positive vibes. I can’t stand negativity and people who always try to bring you down. Overall I want to go to a college where they’ll foster my talents, and continue to push me to the best of my ability.
