Personal Statement
“It's not how big you are, it's how big you play.” John Wooden
My name is Jailah and I have loved playing Basketball since I was 6 years old. My dream was to continuing to play at a collegiate level while earning a great education! As a Student/Athlete I know that a good work ethic and the right mindset can make just about anything possible. I discipline myself in the classroom as well as in the gym to help me get to the next level. I take this sport very seriously in practice as well as games. This mentality has helped me to develop into a very coach-able player.
I completed my first year of college at DII Davis & Elkins College in WV. The past two years and my Senior year is with the Post University Eagles family! I was a member of the National Honor Society and Honors student in my Senior year (C/O 2018) at Barack Obama Green Charter High School in Plainfield, NJ. I played Varsity basketball for Plainfield High School for the past 3 years and have been Team Captain for 2 years. I was also named to the Union County Mountain Division All Conference team for 2017 & 2018. I was also named UCC Player of the week in February of 2018.
Im looking for a graduate program where I can continue play and pursue a Masters in Athletic Training. I would love to find a great fit where I can bring my passion and hard work to a great school and make an impact on and off the court!
