I have been playing organized basketball for nine years. I have played the last five years on two different travel teams. It meant alot to me to be called up my sophomore year to play on the varsity team. During my varsity season I was second in free throw percentage and blocks per game. What the varsity season taught me was that I wasn’t satisfied with each game performance and I insist on improving. My goal is to improve my scoring to help my team to double digit wins. One of my most memorable moments in varsity was a sectional playoff game thereafter my coach told me that without my defensive efforts, we would have lost. What I like about travel ball is the greater volume of games, variety and quality of competition and my teammates. Travel ball has taught me greater understanding and greater depth of knowledge for the game of basketball. One of my most memorable moments during Travel ball was holding a 50 point scorer to only 2 points in the championship game.
It is my desire to compete as a student athlete while in pursuit of my college degree. I am a NYSPHAA Scholar Athlete, a member of the National Junior Honor Society, a member of the SADD club, and a volunteer children's teacher. I will bring energy on the court and in the classroom defined by a teachable spirit.
