Katelyn Penner '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Katelyn Penner and I will be in the graduating class of 2023 at Okeene High School. I have played in many sports my whole life including: softball, track, and cross country but the sport I love the most and that I want to stay competitive in throughout my life is basketball.  Watching my dad coach the game I love has shown me that I want to do that as well. I would like to get as much experience playing the game I love and strive to get better at first. As a teachers daughter academics is extremely important to me, not just my extracurricular activities. I have never had below a 4.0 and take pride in my academic achievements. I am looking for a college that can help me grow not only as an athlete but also as a student. The most important thing to me above everything else is a teams work ethic, I would greatly enjoy being on a team that challenges me physically and mentally to get better. I have spent all of my junior and high school years getting stronger faster so I can get better and I have learned the only way to do that is through working hard.
