Personal Statement
My name is Ellie Morrill and I truly love the game of basketball. I am in the graduating class of 2022 at Owasso High School- Owasso, Oklahoma. I am a 6’-0” shooting guard/power forward. I began playing basketball in 3rd grade for an Iowa Club Team and have continued with AAU basketball to date. I also participate in individual skills training independently. I am very strong in the post position as well as mid-range and three-point shots. Defensively, I have been very successful in shot blocking, rebounds and shutting the lane down against a good offense with my long wingspan, strength, and overall court awareness. When not playing basketball, I also participate in track and weight training for additional strength and conditioning. Perhaps my greatest attributes as player are my work ethic and devotion to the game as a team member. I love a great assist just as much as I love making a great shot! Being part of a team and the feeling when teamwork turns into success is what makes it fun. I have been described throughout my basketball career as “very coachable” from both coaches and trainers.
Not only am I dedicated to becoming a successful athlete, but a successful student. I am currently holding a 3.5 GPA and am excited to work hard toward reaching my academic goals as much as my athletic goals.
As the current Covid-19 Pandemic has put some aspects of my basketball and academic career on hold, I am still doing my part working hard on an individual level to improve academically and athletically.
Ultimately, my goals are to attend a four-year university where I am challenged both on and off the court.
Thank you for visiting my NCSA profile and watching my 2019–2020 highlight video and as soon as we know more of how our AAU season looks during and post Covid-19 I will post the schedule.
