My name is Micah Harvey. I am an 18 year old Senior at Sallisaw Central High. I work full-time at Long John Silvers in Sallisaw, when I'm not in school or on the court. I've had some trouble procrastinating with academics in the past but I've improved that my Junior year and plan to stay focused to achieve my goal, that is to become a physical therapist. I've played basketball since elementary. I did not fall in love with the game until my 4th grade year. I've always wanted to be a teacher and during my freshman year of high school I decided I wanted to coach girls basketball. I discussed it with my coach and after a long discussion with him about how much family time and home life I would have to sacrifice. I decided against coaching as my career but would still like to coach travel teams in my spare time after completing my education. I still, very much want to be involved with basketball, by playing the game during my college years and have decided to seek a degree in Physical Therapy for injured athletes. I know I have a long hard road ahead of me. I'm up for the challenge and very determined to accomplish my goal. I believe I can be a good leader. I am the captain of my basketball team and I do all I can to encourage all my teammates so we can stay focused and play our best on and off the court. I'm training to be a manager at Long John Silvers, so I can continue to work and assist my parents with my education expenses. I am responsible and dependable at school, home, and work, and on the court and eager to begin my journey in my next stage of life.
