Personal Statement

This year our team worked hard and came together to win the Oklahoma 5A State Championship and brought home the gold ball! Winning State and being a starter every game since my sophomore season have been the highlights of my high school years! The last two seasons I learned the importance of stepping up and playing where I am needed and not just where I feel comfortable. I learned that I can be an asset in all positions on the floor in order to best help my team.  I am good at reading the court and executing plays as well as creating open shots for my teammates.  I have played on my Mid-American Youth Basketball (MAYB) team every summer since I was in 8th grade. This has given me an opportunity to play with other players, compete at a more competitive level, and receive additional coaching advice. I had the opportunity to attend Jason Otter’s Point Guard Elite camp. This intense camp not only taught me valuable skills I can use on the court but countless life lessons such as being a leader, the importance of practicing with enthusiasm, and working to encourage a positive work ethic and attitude with my team.

I have maintained a 4.0 GPA my freshman, sophomore, and junior year and my goal is to continue that through my entire high school career. I hope to find a college that fits me athletically as well as academically. I am a firm believer in hard work, dedication, commitment, and being a team player.  Playing at the next level has always been a dream of mine and I am open to any opportunities that will help me grow as a student-athlete. I look forward to the many relationships created from being part of a team as well working together with the coaches and teammates towards a common goal…pushing each other to be the best we can be on and off the court.
