Basketball has always been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started playing basketball when I was only four years old. I fell in love with the sport instantly. Basketball was always something my family shared: my mother, my cousins and my uncle all played. My family has always supported me and encouraged me to persevere no matter how discouraged or disappointed I might feel. When I was just nine years old I attended my first college girls’ basketball game, and I remember telling my mom that someday I would be out there on that court playing college ball. Since then, that has been my goal. I have worked hard both athletically and academically to ensure that I was at my best as an athlete and to assure that my school work was always challenging and above average. Likewise, as I mature, I am more determined than ever to achieve my goal of playing basketball in college. I embrace challenging myself and learning new things.
