Personal Statement

I strive to be the hardest working player on any team I am apart of. I have aspired to play college basketball since I was a kid. I love working to achieve something bigger than myself and working as hard as I can to become the best basketball player I can be.

I have strong ball-handling skills and can create open looks for my teammates. I take charges and will dive onto the floor for any loose ball. Also, I am continuously working on my shot and have become a consistent shooter. I have always either played point guard or shooting guard, therefore I am a leader and hold all of my teammates accountable. I was a team captain during my sophomore year and led a team of mostly underclassmen to a region championship.

I want to attend a college where I will be pushed by my teammates and coaches to be not only the best basketball player but the best teammate I can be. Ultimately, I am looking for a college that will push me in the classroom, weight room, and the court.

Player of the game - East Bracket- Game 1- Scoring 32 points in the win against South Aiken High School. Finished the two day tournament with a 28 pts/game average, which was the highest average of the two day High School Team tournament, which featured 12 High School teams from across South Carolina.

I will be playing in this AAU tournament for the Carolina Pistons. Game 1 is 10/3/20 at 8:00 AM and our 2nd game is at 8:00 PM. Our team won the tournament. Feedback from LBI Carolina Top 100 after the event: Alexis Sexton | Lexington High | PG/SG Sexton does a great job of changing up her speed. She would make a fast break and be able to pull up quickly for a jump shot. She also moved her body well to make effective passes to her teammates. She can drive down the middle of the paint for a lay up or a jump shot and showed no fear of upcoming contact. On defense, she jumped into passing lanes and followed shots grabbing rebounds. ABDL Girls Regional Championship

Won game one, Alexis had 21 points playing with the Carolina Pistons. Game 2 at 2:00 on 7/25 against Team Hickory. Won game 2, Alexis scored 17 pts. Game 3 on 7/26 at 11:00 AM. Our team went 4-1 in the tournament, losing in the championship game. We felt that was pretty good considering we formed this team one week prior to the tournament and only had 2 practices as a team. We will likely play in more tournaments in August.
