Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Emma Jones and I am going to be Senior this coming fall. I am 6 feet and weigh 140 pounds and still growing sharp shooter! I had a few accomplishments my Sophomore season that I am very proud of with FG percentage 54%, 3 Point 40%, Free Throws100 % in my very competitive 4A conference. I also was 1st in 3 point shots made as well. My goal as a student/athlete is to attend a Division I or II university playing the sport I love, basketball. I am a tirelessly hard worker on and off the court, and I want to play for a program that is committed to developing the overall student athlete. I absolutely love basketball. I love how you continue to learn with this sport everyday. There are so many skills that you can learn, but some things that can’t be learned. For instance, great attitude, effort, passion, coach ability, work ethic and drive. I strive to be the best that I can be and basketball is no exception. Basketball has taught me the true meaning of teamwork and hard work. With my history of playing year round, having siblings who also play, along with having trained by my father who was a college/professional player I have had the opportunity to work on my best skills which include my three point shooting, my overall jump shot, catch and shoot, court vision and awareness, ball handling and more importantly my basketball IQ. I am exposed to and love basketball and get to be a part of it on a regular basis through playing, watching, film study, participating in camps, clinics, and teaching young athletes, etc. I will strive to do my best daily and will represent myself with honor and respect on and off the court; knowing that the way I behave reflects my team, my coaches, staff and the university that I will be attending.
Thank you
Emma G. Jones
