My name is Tyler Coffman, I am 17 years old and I am from Wasilla, Alaska. I started diving my freshman year of high school, following the end of my gymnastics career due to an injury, and since then have fallen in love with the sport of diving. I have dove 4 varsity seasons for Palmer High School. Junior Season I took 2nd in the Region III Championships and 3rd in the Alaska State Championships. My freshman and sophomore seasons I placed within top 6 in the state, and sophomore year contributed to the winning of the Palmer girls team swim and diving Region title.
Diving in college is a dream of mine. I believe diving at the collegiate level would grow me in more ways than just as an athlete, but also a student and an individual. I know I have what it takes to be a focused, driven, and determined college student-athlete.
Academically, I have been a high honor roll student my entire life. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and strive to work to the best of my ability in all of my classes. I have a passion for science and plan on majoring in pre-medical studies and after going on to medical school, hopefully entering the field of orthopedics and sports medicine.
