I started participating on the 1-meter springboard with the Midwest Diving Academy when I was 12 years old. As a freshman, I joined the Boone High School dive team so I could compete in the sport. I’ve been competing in power tumbling and trampoline since I was two years old, and I’ve thrived on the competition aspect. As a freshman, my desire to work on the development of my diving skills grew into a sincere love of this sport. I have made the Iowa High School State Diving Competition as a freshman, sophomore and junior and I have set a personal goal to make the state meet as a senior. Over these last three diving seasons, I have made it a goal to dive at the collegiate level. I am not afraid of hard work both in the pool, and in the classroom, and I believe I’ve shown that in both regards. With my personal desire to succeed at a highly competitive level and maintain my grades in the classroom, I know I will be a valuable teammate/student at the college level.
