My name is Lenna Persson and I am a 2025 graduate out of Aspen High School. I am a dual sport athlete and I have been my whole life. This past August I committed to South Dakota State to play college golf and become a jackrabbit. However after I got that scholarship I went on and I had an amazing ski season competing in mogul skiing. This season got me some extra recognition and I got a spot on the New Zealand mogul team to professionally ski for them. That was an incredible opportunity that I could not pass up so I gave up my scholarship with South Dakota and I will be competitively skiing for this next year. However I am still working hard to play college golf in 2026. I have been playing golf tournaments and will continue to play and practice working hard on my game for the rest of the summer. As well as finding a simulator so that I can practice in the winter too.
I have a scoring average of 74 and my best round is a 68 that I shot in a high school tournament this past season. I drive the ball on average 260 yards, my five iron goes 180 yards, and my seven iron goes 160 yards. I play from just over 6000 yards consistently and don’t struggle with that distance. I have a 4.2 GPA and am very academically driven. I have helped my high school team achieve 2nd place at the 3A State Championships in 2023. I placed 4th individually. I have won regionals for my high school in 2022, 2023, and 2024. We also won as a team in 2023.
I really want to play College golf. I love the sport and being part of a team environment.I am a competitive mogul skier and have been nationally and state ranked over the years. I was Head Girl of my High School and have been on the student senate since freshman year. I was chosen to be part of the HOPE squad and help fellow students deal with depression and suicidal thoughts since I was a freshman. I also was selected to be on the National Honor Society this year. I also have hiked thirty 14,000 foot mountains in Colorado and love the outdoors whether it is camping, hiking or mountain biking.
I am an outgoing, athletic and confident young woman who feels I would represent your college well in golf as well as a student and team member. I look forward to talking with you.
